By nature the Salesforce Platform is agile, getting three release updates a year. These are named after the seasons and provide both new features and updates to existing functionality to make the platform even better!
In this post I explore some of my predictions for what Salesforce has planned for the near future.
More Certifications
So far this year we’ve already seen new Certifications such as Industries CPQ Developer, OmniStudio Developer and most recently User Experience (UX) Designer.
As more products come into the fold through acquisitions and general expansions on the platform, I expect the number of certifications to grow. An example of this is Mulesoft, it’s my opinion that it’s only a matter of time until this certification is moved into the core Salesforce program at some point.
Einstein
Einstein made news back in January when Salesforce announced that in their last FY (Jan 21) the A.I. tool made 80 billion predictions every day!
This shows the importance of this AI tool and how it is being used to predict information such as Lead Score or give Account Insights.
As the number of predictions continues to reach new heights, I suspect there will be new Einstein Prediction features and, for Einstein Bots to be enhanced too.
Digital Engagement
Salesforce allows companies to truly embrace the ‘work from anywhere world’ and serve customers via WhatsApp, Facebook, SMS and Chat.Â
Right now there is also the functionality to deploy Einstein Bots on various channels allowing customers to effectively self-serve with use cases such as being shown Knowledge Articles, or getting the latest status of their order.
As I understand it, Salesforce are working on the ability to transfer WhatsApp/Facebook conversations to another agent, bot or a flow and I suspect over time we will see more channels too such as WeChat and Apple Business Chat (beta) brought into the fold.
Idea Exchange Prioritization Winners
A way to get a peek into what’s coming up is to check out the Idea Exchange and look at the prioritization winners. This is a way for the wider community to submit ideas that are then selected for prioritization with winners being added to the roadmap.
Also Coming in the near future will be the ability to print Tableau dashboards, a standard field type for address and opportunity queues.
More new clouds?
With COVID-19 Salesforce launched Work.com to give businesses the tools to safely reopen during the global pandemic.
Since then, newer clouds have appeared including Loyalty Management. With this advancement in mind, all signs point to Salesforce releasing more clouds to tackle the ever changing problems of the modern world. Exactly what they are and when they might appear, remains to be seen.
Personally, I would also expect more Industry Verticals to appear as Salesforce has recently solidified Financial Services Cloud, Government Cloud and others into this new product category.
