We’re pretty excited that the Salesforce Summer ’21 release is upon us, so much so we wanted to get involved. Our team of certified Salesforce consultants here at Trigg Digital, are going to be sharing their favourite features of each platform. Let’s discuss Experience Cloud!
Salesforce Experience Cloud provides your business with the tools to streamline its processes by sharing data and files to the internal and external users you choose. Layla Ness, an experienced Salesforce Experience Cloud Consultant, shares her top 5 favourite features coming to Experience Cloud this summer.
1. Service Not Available page
You can now configure an auto generated Service Not Available page that’s available on the rare occasion that your site is down.
This is fully customisable using the HTML Editor component in Experience Builder. Add a Rich Content Editor component to the page to add your own text and images and include Email-to-Case so that users can continue to create cases even when the site is unavailable.
This feature is compatible with the following templates: Build Your Own (LWR), B2C (LWR), Partner Central, B2B Commerce, Customer Service, Build Your Own, Help Center, and Customer Account Portal.
You also need to enable the standard content delivery network (CDN) system. What’s a CDN you say? Content delivery network (CDN) is a globally distributed system of caching servers. It caches copies of frequently requested content.
2. LWR Experience Builder Sites
Salesforce now differentiates between sites based on the latest Lightning Web Runtime (LWR) templates and Aura sites which are based on the original templates.
The Build Your Own (LWR) template is now available without purchasing CMS. Use this customisable template to create websites, microsites and portals that are lightning fast.
You can now customise LWR sites with Theme options such as colour palettes, CMS images and the text styles that represent your brand.
3. Guest User Security
Security improvements mean that you can now create guest user sharing rules to share records owned by high-volume community users such as users assigned the External Apps and Customer Community license types.
4. See All of User’s Posts on Their Profile Page
Visit a user’s profile page to view all of their posts along with comments instead of having to visit multiple groups, topic pages and records.
5. Update Tasks with the Customer Community License
Users with the Customer Community License can now create tasks for themselves and other users, edit and delete tasks that they own, and collaborate on tasks that are shared.
In conclusion the Summer ‘21 release provides some great new Experience Cloud features that offer site continuity and security as well as greater flexibility for customisation of themes and branding.
