In the early September sunshine, six staff gave a day of their time to help make a difference to a small children’s charity in SW London.
The team visited Oasis Nature Garden in Stockwell to help make improvements to the site where children learn about growing food and nature through education and play.
The team built new composting bins to create organic mulch for growing fruit & vegetables, made structural repairs to the tree house and wheel-barrowed two tonne of sand to create a new children’s play pit.
Importantly, they got to find out about the charity and how it supports local families and their children.
“It was a rewarding day and I’m glad I got involved,” said Matt Holdgate. “It felt good to get outdoors, get away from the screen for a day and do something together as a team.”
Ed Bonilla also enjoyed the experience of volunteering, “As a recent new starter it was a great opportunity to meet new colleagues. It’s brilliant that as a company we get involved in helping the community and creating volunteering opportunities to make staff feel more inclusive.”
Stuart from the charity was delighted with the efforts of the team. “I can’t thank you enough for what you all achieved. It would have taken us weeks to do what you did in a day. You’ve made such a difference and the children, staff and community is extremely grateful for giving your time to visit and help us.”
The team were super excited to get involved again and work with Paul from Business Volunteers to give back to the community. Trigg are committed to meeting our Pledge 1% commitment and not only is it for a great cause but its also great to meet up with colleagues and work together to build something meaningful for the local area.
If you and your team are looking to do something similar and give back, then get in touch with Paul!
